Your business already has the expertise. The challenge is turning it into content.

The strongest ideas in a financial-services business often sit with people who have demanding day jobs.

Underwriters are underwriting, portfolio managers are managing investments and product specialists are developing propositions. They may have valuable knowledge to share, but they rarely have the time or inclination to turn it into a finished article.

That can leave marketing chasing drafts, trying to find the angle and rewriting technical material for an external audience. The Expert Insight Pilot removes that bottleneck. One of our senior financial-services writers speaks to your expert, finds what’s genuinely worth saying and turns it into a clear, authoritative article.

How it works

For 20 years, we’ve been using our Expert Insight Method™ to support knowledge-rich, expertise-led financial services organisations. The Expert Insight Pilot makes it simple to test us out. Here’s an overview:

The Expert Insight Pilot

1. Quick briefing call

We start with a short briefing conversation with marketing. We agree the audience, purpose and broad subject, so the interview and article have a clear direction from the outset.

2. Expert interview / research

Your writer prepares the questions and leads a focused conversation with your subject-matter expert, usually lasting around 30 minutes. We ask the follow-up questions that uncover useful examples, practical experience and informed opinions.

3. Writing and refinement

We identify the strongest idea in the interview and shape it around a clear argument. Your senior financial-services writer then produces an original article that reflects your expertise and tone of voice, supported by additional research where required. Your marketing team, expert and internal reviewers can comment on the draft. Three rounds of amendments are included.

4. Delivery

You receive a finished piece in 5–10 days, ready to review.

5. Decide

Continue or walk away. No pressure. No commitment.

Cost

We charge a flat fee of £600+VAT up to 1,000 words. No extras.

One complete article for £600+VAT

The Pilot isn’t a sample or a reduced version of our service. It’s a complete piece of original content, produced using the same process and senior expertise we bring to longer client relationships.

You’ll receive:

  • One thought-leadership article of up to 1,000 words

  • A focused subject-matter expert interview, usually around 30 minutes

  • Topic and angle development

  • Supporting research where required

  • A senior financial-services writer

  • Three rounds of amendments

  • Copy developed with regulatory scrutiny in mind

  • Alex Genn’s oversight throughout

Your organisation remains responsible for formal Legal and Compliance approval. We’ll provide carefully considered copy designed to make that review as straightforward as possible.

Senior financial-services writers, not generalist content producers

We’ve worked with financial-services organisations for more than 20 years, across banking, payments, insurance, wealth and asset management, lending and fintech. You’ll work directly with one of our 25 senior writers, each with at least 15 years’ experience, matched to your subject and overseen by Alex.

There are no junior writers learning on your brief and no unnecessary account-management layers between you and the person doing the work.

Don’t hire us yet

A proposal can tell you about our experience and process. It can’t show you how well we’ll understand your subject, capture your voice or respond to feedback. A finished article can.

The Expert Insight Pilot lets you judge us on the work itself. You get one complete, usable article for a fixed fee of £600+VAT, without signing a contract or agreeing to a retainer. If the finished work proves we’re a good fit, we can discuss what comes next. If you decide not to continue, you still have an article to use and there’s no further commitment.

One article. One fixed fee. Then you decide.

Frequently asked questions

How much time will you need from our expert?

Usually around 30 minutes. We prepare the questions and guide the conversation, so your expert doesn’t need to write a draft or do extensive preparation.

How quickly will we receive the article?

We usually deliver it within 5–10 working days of the expert interview. We’ll confirm the schedule before starting, particularly if the subject requires extensive research.

What does the £600+VAT fee include?

It covers one complete thought-leadership article of up to 1,000 words, including briefing, expert interview, angle development, supporting research where required, writing and three rounds of amendments.

Will the work pass Compliance?

Your organisation retains responsibility for formal Legal and Compliance approval, so no external writer should promise that a piece will automatically pass review.

What we always do is write with regulatory scrutiny in mind from the beginning. Our financial-services writers understand the need to avoid unsupported claims, careless certainty, ambiguous language and oversimplification. We also respond to stakeholder feedback and include three rounds of amendments in the Pilot.

The objective is not to bypass Compliance. It’s to give reviewers a clear, carefully developed draft and reduce avoidable friction during the approval process.

Will the piece be written by the same person we'd work with later?

Yes, we make sure the same writer stays with you, from the initial piece throughout all future projects, unless a project requires a different skill set, in which case we’ll bring on an additional writer.

Can we test something other than an article?

Of course, we can undertake anything you choose, such as site pages or case studies, although longer pieces will increase the cost.

What happens after the Pilot article?

That is entirely your decision. You can stop after the Pilot and retain a complete, usable article with no further commitment.

If the process works well, we can provide occasional support, develop a regular thought-leadership programme or use further expert interviews to create a consistent pipeline of articles and related marketing assets. The relationship can be shaped around your team’s capacity and priorities rather than forcing you into a fixed package.

The Pilot is designed to answer the most important question first: can we understand your organisation and produce genuinely useful work?

How do you handle confidential information and the use of AI?

We treat client information, interview material and unpublished drafts as confidential and use them only for the agreed work. We can also work under an appropriate confidentiality agreement where required.

Because policies and technical arrangements can differ by project, we agree in advance what information may be shared, whether interviews will be recorded and what restrictions apply to the use of AI tools. Sensitive or regulated information should never be placed into an external system without the appropriate permission and safeguards.
