See exactly how we think, research and write before committing to a larger project, with an Expert Insight Pilot. Delivered in 5–10 days, for a fixed fee of £600+VAT. No contracts. No retainers. No sales pitch.
Take the risk out of choosing a financial services copywriter. Decide based on the quality of their work, communication and response to feedback. Put us to the test with an Expert Insight Pilot; that’s how most of our partnerships start.
How it works
For 20 years, we’ve been using our Expert Insight Method™ to support knowledge-rich, expertise-led financial services organisations. The Expert Insight Pilot makes it simple to test us out. Here’s how it works:
The Expert Insight Pilot
1. Quick briefing call
We discuss your goals, audience and potential topics.
2. Expert interview / research
We speak to your subject matter expert (usually around 30 minutes) or undertake research, as required.
3. Writing and refinement
We develop the article / site page / case study (etc.) and refine it based on your feedback. Three rounds of amends are included.
4. Delivery
You receive a finished piece in 5–10 days, ready to review.
5. Decide
Continue or walk away. No pressure. No commitment.
Cost
We charge a flat fee of £600+VAT up to 1,000 words. No extras.
What you’ll get
Your Pilot piece isn’t a ‘trial’ or a watered-down version. You’ll receive a fully developed piece of original content, designed to reflect your expertise and withstand scrutiny.
We’ll interview your subject matter expert. Following this, we’ll identify a strong, relevant topic. Then we’ll develop a clear, differentiated angle. Finally, we’ll deliver a polished, Compliance-ready piece of content, with three rounds of amendments included.
At every stage, your senior-level financial services writer will collaborate closely with you, working as an extension of your team. And your Pilot piece will be overseen by Alex Genn.
What happens after your Pilot piece?
Once you’ve seen the Pilot piece, if you want to expand the relationship, we can:
- Develop a regular thought leadership programme
- Support your wider content needs
- Write your website, case studies, etc.
- Build a consistent pipeline of high-quality content
If you don’t, you still have a strong piece of content.
Either way, there’s no downside. And the cost is minimal, making it a risk-free approach.

Why start with a Pilot?
We know that selecting a supplier is risky, financially and reputationally. So we’ve tried to minimise those risks and give you a simple way to move forward without overcommitting.
- No long-term contract
- No drawn-out procurement process
- No internal risk
Just one piece of financial services content, expertly crafted, by a senior-level financial services copywriter. Written for your brand, in your voice, with your in-house expertise. Delivered for £600+VAT. No extras. No commitment.
Who this is for
This approach works best for:
- Financial services firms and fintechs
- Marketing teams who need to prove value internally
- Businesses that have been let down by generic content
- Teams exploring external support for the first time
…and anyone wary of trying something new, who wants to dip their toe, with minimal risk.
Trusted by global brands and disruptive startups
Whatever the size of your business or ambitions, you’ll receive the same quality of expert work and level of attentive service. We never forget you’re trusting us with your reputation. That’s why these brands partner with us:

Why clients choose this route
Most of our clients have already tried writing internally (and struggled for time). They’ve used generalist copywriters (and felt their lack of specialist experience) or they’ve experimented with AI-generated drafts and realised that’s not the answer, especially for regulated businesses.
For each of these approaches, they’ve found the results missed the mark.
When they decided to explore specialist financial services copywriting support, they put us to the test with a no-commitment test piece. This is the best way to quickly check if we’re the right fit for you.

Frequently asked questions
Is £600+VAT the full price of the Pilot?
Yes. The £600+VAT Pilot covers one complete piece of content of up to 1,000 words. It includes the subject-matter expert interview, angle development, supporting research, writing and three rounds of amendments.
The Pilot is not a sample paragraph or a reduced-quality trial. It is intended to show you the actual process and standard of work before you consider a longer relationship. There is no contract and no obligation to commission anything else.
Longer or substantially different assets, such as white papers and research-led reports, require a separate quotation. We will agree any change in scope before beginning the work.
What happens after the Pilot piece?
That is entirely your decision. You can stop after the Pilot and retain a complete, usable article, case study or page of site content with no further commitment.
If the process works well, we can provide occasional support, write the rest of the site, further case studies or develop a regular thought-leadership programme or use further expert interviews to create a consistent pipeline of articles and related marketing assets. The relationship can be shaped around your team’s capacity and priorities rather than forcing you into a fixed package.
The Pilot is designed to answer the most important question first: can we understand your organisation and produce genuinely useful work?
How do you handle confidential information and the use of AI?
We treat client information, interview material and unpublished drafts as confidential and use them only for the agreed work. We are also happy to work under an appropriate confidentiality agreement where required.
Because policies and technical arrangements can differ by project, we agree in advance what information may be shared, whether interviews will be recorded and what restrictions apply to the use of AI tools. Sensitive or regulated information should never be placed into an external system without the appropriate permission and safeguards.
How will we know whether the content is producing a return?
A single content piece cannot honestly guarantee leads or revenue. Its value depends on the audience, subject, distribution and role it plays in the wider marketing programme.
Before developing the piece, we establish who it’s for, what that audience should understand and what purpose the content needs to serve. Depending on the brief, that may include supporting a campaign, demonstrating authority, helping sales conversations, educating intermediaries or creating material that can be reused across several channels.
The most useful measures are therefore agreed around the purpose of the asset, such as engagement, qualified traffic, campaign response, sales usage or contribution to a wider content programme.
Why not just use AI instead?
AI can accelerate drafting, but it doesn’t remove topic development, expert coordination, fact-checking, rewriting and approvals. We’ve compared the complete internal process with the Expert Insight Method™. See the full cost comparison.
How long does it take?
Usually 5–10 working days from interview to delivery (longer pieces may take more time).
Will the piece be written by the same person we’d work with later?
Yes, we make sure the same writer stays with you, from the initial piece throughout all future projects, unless a project requires a different skill set, in which case we’ll bring on an additional writer.
How much input do you need from us?
Not a huge amount but we’ll need to co-ordinate with marketing, and one 30-minute interview with your expert.
Can we test something other than an article?
Of course, we can undertake anything you choose, such as site pages or case studies, although longer pieces will increase the cost.
Do you understand our sector?
We specialise in financial services and fintech, with experience across asset management, banking, insurance and payments.
What if we don’t like the content piece?
No problem. The purpose of the test piece is to determine whether we’re the right fit.
Will it pass compliance?
We write with regulatory review in mind, helping reduce friction in approval processes.
